My artwork is aimed at mocking the hypocrites. India is on the threshold of becoming a world power, and yet, some of us are still stuck in the age old traditions and malpractices of dowry. The worrying factor is that this trend is as common in developed metros as it is in remote villages. its about time we stop treating the marriage like a package deal - where the bride never comes alone, she is always accompanied by expensive gifts. Weather a person can afford this or not is not an issue we are concerned with…it just SHOULD be done, and it IS done. The best way to stop being asked for dowry is to stop asking for it. Take a stand…say no to dowry
